Installing a bathroom vanity and integrated sink countertop.

Whether adding a new bathroom or renovating an old bathroom, you will most likely have to install a new vanity and/or sink. This article will cover the installation of a new vanity and countertop with integrated sink.

As you will quickly discover, bathrooms and kitchens are expensive rooms to renovate or remodel. Bathroom expenses include: cabinets, sinks, knobs/pulls, lighting, fixtures, etc. We have chosen to save a little money by purchasing an unfinished cabinet. Unfinished cabinets aren’t the best looking out there, but with a nice finish and some additional accents, they can be a nice piece.

In the past, bathroom vanities have customarily been 30 inches in height. A recent trend has been to have a taller vanity, roughly 33 inches in height. Our vanity is 30”, but we will be raising it to 33”. We will also be removing the inexpensive door hinges and replacing them with a hidden European style hinge. The drawer slides can be replaced as well, but the cost of the nicer slides is not in the budget for this project. I would highly recommend making this upgrade for a kitchen though. They allow the drawer to fully extend and can support a lot of weight.
